Our Friend - The Reverand

Rev. Shirley has been a great friend for many years ( around 20?) to all of us here at His House Ministries in West Columbia, South Carolina.  When we first met her, she was still working with the "Bombers", a minor league baseball team here in Columbia.  After she left the secular employment to fulfill the Lord's call to ministry, we had great times of fellowship when she operated her women's rehabilitation shelter literally right in our backdoor.  The Angel Food program she administered in West Columbia helped so many people that were in need and her cheerful disposition lifted many spirits as they came to pick up their food baskets.  Although she eventually relocated to Cleveland, Tennessee to work at New Life Bible School , we still kept in touch regularly.  The last time we spoke was just about 3 weeks ago.  She was her usual chipper self with all kinds of good reports. She was always a joy to be around, and would always seek out those that needed a kind word. Rev. Shirley was a very special one of a kind person.  If you needed prayer, she was the one to call! She influenced a lot of lives for the better, many more than we even know.  The world is a little less happy when Rev. Shirley is not around.  We will miss her, but we are so pleased that the Lord answered one of her prayers - "let me go ministering to someone, or in my sleep, Lord if it is ok with you."    We know that today she is still rejoicing in Heaven just like she did here, except she doesn't have to stop!  She is waiting to be reunited with her family and friends that she loved so much.  We all look forward to that day.
