James Lee McQueen(Jim), 59, of Forest City, NC passed away December 17, 2013 at 10:40 pm at Rutherford Hospital following a brief illness.
He leaves his loving wife of over 20 years, Kim McQueen; and his 2 children; Brian McQueen of Mooresboro, NC and Theresa McQueen Soppelsa and husband Michael of Miami, Fl; sister-in-laws; Susie Cooper and Husband Paul of Pilot Mtn., NC and Jenny Fisher and husband Rick of Hendersonville, TN, granddaughter Amelia Soppelsa and nephews Drake and Erik Fisher. Brother Robert McQueen and wife Claudia, of Eugene OR.
Jim McQueen was born in Paduka, Kentucky, but resided in many states during his father’s career with Betchel Corporation. Most of his family resided in Missouri. Jim resided in North Carolina for over 44 years and was a graduate of Chase High School in 1972. Jim loved animals of all kinds especially his three cats.
Jim was the founder of McQueen Auction and Real Estate which has been in operation for over 30 years. Additionally, Jim owned McQueen Bail Bonding.
Jim served as a Board Member in North Carolina Bail Agents Assoc. and was a member and contributor to the Piedmont Gun Club. Jim McQueen will always be remembered for his strong presence and humor.
Funeral Services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Dr. Jim Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Crowe’s Mortuary.
