Boyce Edwin White, age 68, of Forest City passed away at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

He was born on October 11th, 1951 in Kings Mountain, to Howard Mitchell and Louise Byers White. Boyce attended East Rutherford High School where he met his wife, Martha Ann Atchley, and they wed on January 19th, 1971. He was always good with his hands, plying his skills to mechanic work for many years before retiring as a truck driver for UPS Freight. Besides his family, relatives and extended, Boyce loved two things; His white 1966 Pontiac Tempest with red interior and his little cat, Lizzie.

Boyce is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Martha; his only son, Preston Scott; his two sisters, Sue Ritch (Earl), and Dianne Wilson (Paul); his 93 year old Uncle Jimmy (Gloria); his brother-in-law, Joe Atchley; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Boyce is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Johnsie Abrams; and four brothers, Howard Jr., Gene, Jerry, and James.

Boyce will be remembered as a man’s man, who took care of his family above all else and looked out for others. A memorial service will be held at a later date, and the family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.

When I think of Boyce, I have very good memories. He was always fun to run into and strike up a conversation, even though sometimes it had been years before the last one. He was a relative (to me) that seemed to be quietly lingering in the background and yet when you once again met, you realized how much you have missed his company, and then you look forward to hook up again with him, and you make these Promises to Get Together and then.....Life Gets In The Way Of Your Plans, and it never happens....Time goes by and now you regret it....I regret it....

Yes! He WAS a Man's Man, and a good man! I will miss him.
Martha, Preston, I'm here for you if you need me.
May you find peace knowing he is with God for Eternity and someday to see again!
My heart is with you

Hello Martha, this is David Wells. So sorry to hear about the passing of Boyce. I have many memories of good times we had together, playing Rook, going to Spartanburg, listening to your beautiful voice when you sang, having meals together, and many more. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Joe Atchley: Boyce White was a good Man and was a good Husband to my Sister Martha and to his Son Preston. He was always open to giving a helping hand when he could. He was a smart Man and always worked hard and could almost do anything. I really thought a lot of Him and He will be missed. My love & prayers goes out to Martha & Preston. Love you both always! RIP Boyce White...

What can be said of Boyce White? He was a kind and loyal husband and father ! Boyce was a talented individual and worked very hard his entire life! I found him to have a dry and humorous personality. May his family receive the peace of our Lord as they live for Boyce in the future. To God be the glory!!
