Obituary for Boyce Edwin White
Boyce Edwin White, age 68, of Forest City passed away at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
He was born on October 11th, 1951 in Kings Mountain, to Howard Mitchell and Louise Byers White. Boyce attended East Rutherford High School where he met his wife, Martha Ann Atchley, and they wed on January 19th, 1971. He was always good with his hands, plying his skills to mechanic work for many years before retiring as a truck driver for UPS Freight. Besides his family, relatives and extended, Boyce loved two things; His white 1966 Pontiac Tempest with red interior and his little cat, Lizzie.
Boyce is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Martha; his only son, Preston Scott; his two sisters, Sue Ritch (Earl), and Dianne Wilson (Paul); his 93 year old Uncle Jimmy (Gloria); his brother-in-law, Joe Atchley; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Boyce is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Johnsie Abrams; and four brothers, Howard Jr., Gene, Jerry, and James.
Boyce will be remembered as a man’s man, who took care of his family above all else and looked out for others. A memorial service will be held at a later date, and the family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
