Obituary for Wyath Moore

Wyath  Moore
Wyath R. “Butch” Moore, 87, of Union Mills died February 7, 2011 at Fair Haven Home in Bostic. A native of Alexander Mills, he was a son of the late George A. Moore Sr and Christeen Withrow Moore and the widower of Ruby W. Moore. He was a veteran of World War II, worked for the Clinchfield Railroad, Broyhill Furniture Company and retired from Henredon Furniture Company. He was a member of Vein Mountain Baptist Church.

He is survived by one brother, Robert A. Moore of Gilkey; five sisters, Estelle Honeycutt of Monroe, Mary Sue Randall of Spartanburg, Iris Newton of Forest City, Patsy Allen and Mildred Henderson of Union Mills. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, W. Verdayne Moore and George A. Moore, Jr and two sisters, Thelma E. Moore and Edith M. Harrill Hammett.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 11 at 2 PM at Vein Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Gouge officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
