Winona McCurry, 97, of Forest City, died Tuesday, June 21 at Hospice House. A native of Davidson County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Lillie Styers Goode. She attended Cool Springs High School. Winona was a member of Spencer Baptist Church where she was a former choir member and Sunday School teacher for many years. Winona and her husband Leonard owned McCurry Motor Company in Spindale.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Millicent Harrill of Forest City and Faye Thompson of Rutherfordton; two grandchildren, Lauren Harrill of Forest City and Ryan Harrill of Forest City; one great grandchild, Megan Harrill of Myrtle Beach, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McCurry, her sister Juanita Goode and brother George Goode.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23 at 4 PM at Spencer Baptist Church in Spindale, NC, with Rev. Billy Vaughn and Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the Family Life Center of Spencer Baptist Church.
