The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sue Bostic can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Sue Jane Bostic (Trexler)

Mrs. Sue Trexler Bostic formerly of Rutherfordton, NC passed away Sunday August 30, 2015 at Hospice House in Forest City, NC. A native of Wadesboro, NC she is a daughter of the Late John Frank Trexler and Susan Mel Faulkner Trexler. Mrs. Bostic graduated from the Rutherford Hospital School of Nursing in 1934 and was employed as a nurse there until 1954, at which time she became a nurse anesthetist, a position she retired from in 1980. She has also been a member of First United Methodist Church in Rutherfordton, NC for over 80 years where she was active in the Dillard Morrow Sunday School Class.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Joyce Gray, grandson Robert Gray, granddaughter Mary Katherine Gray Thompson; son Robert Grant McRorie, Jr. and wife Barbara Kiser McRorie, granddaughter Margaret Anna McRorie Kirk and husband Hailey, Grandson Robert Grant McRorie, III and wife Ursula, grandson George Warren McRorie and wife Andrea; stepson Kenneth Bostic, Jr.; stepdaughter Lynn Bostic Sawyer and husband Buzz; nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and one sister Alice Deere of Charlotte, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters, as well as her husband Kenneth Bostic Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2PM Friday, September 4, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Rutherfordton with interment to follow in the church Memorial Garden. Dr. Jack Knoespel will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the church Family Life Center immediately after the interment.
