Obituary for Seth Jones Perkinson Jr.
Seth Jones Perkinson Jr, 88, of Lake Lure, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Hospice House. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Rev. Seth and Lela Young Perkinson. Seth was a 1951 graduate of Duke University, attending on a football scholarship. He was a WWII US Navy veteran, retired industrial products salesman, and a member of Chimney Rock Baptist Church
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Teresa Collins Perkinson; daughters, Leeanna Perkinson, April Ham, Ann Densmore, Katherine Hearn, Lin McCauley; son, Seth Perkinson III; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Katherine Lyda, Mildred Young, Dorothy Kres. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Perkinson, and sister, Louise Ijams.
Committal services will be held at Noon on May 31, 2016 at Western North Carolina Veterans Cemetery at Black Mountain.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or Charles George VA Medical Center Attn: Voluntary Service, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
