On December 31st 2021 Nancy Elizabeth Higgins Radford, went home to be with her Lord. A native of Rutherford County, NC, Nancy was born October 11, 1948 to the late Arthur and Dovie Mayse Higgins. She was a graduate of RS Central High School. Nancy worked most of her life in the textile industry. She retired from National Textiles in Spindale. Nancy was a charter member of Long Branch Road Baptist Church. Several years ago, she became a member of Green River Baptist Church. Nancy enjoyed crosswords and find-a-word puzzles but her biggest joy was spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by the love of her life for 31 years, Robert Neil Radford, who passed away in 1997. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold “Butch” Mayse and wife Louise, William Earl Higgins and wife, Grace, and Charles Robert Higgins along with a sister, Betty Jean Pope. Nancy was survived by her son, Larry Neil Radford, and wife Nikki of Shelby, NC; daughter, Sandra Radford Wilkerson and husband James of Forest City, NC and two grandsons, Marcus Andrew Radford of Ellenboro, and Robert Eli Radford of Shelby, NC; brothers, Roy Franklin Higgins and wife Elizabeth of Rutherfordton; Jackie Ray Higgins and wife Judy of Forest City, Bobby Joe Higgins and wife Gaye; and Arthur Wayne Higgins and wife Pat, all of Spindale, NC. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Ronald Eugene Radford and wife Lois of Rutherfordton and Marty Knox Williams and wife Chris of Ellenboro; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on Monday January 3rd 2022 at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, 1810 Poors Ford Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
