Obituary for Mark Andrew Gosnell

Mark Andrew Gosnell
Mark Gosnell, 52 of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, a wonderful husband and father, passed away April 1, 2023, after a short illness. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, December 29, 1970, Mark was the son of the Dan and Kay Gosnell. He graduated from Greenville High School.

He is survived by the love of his life, Linette St. Germain Gosnell, his wife of fifteen years, his two amazing children Sam and Olive; two brothers, Craig (Sharon) and Daniel(Alicia); five nieces and one nephew; and two great-nieces and a very large extended St.Germain family; his Barley's family; sports families; and many close friends, also considered family, who will miss him dearly.

Mark was the proud owner/operator of Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria, in Spindale. His love of creative cooking was apparent, especially when he would offer some amazing restaurant specials. Mark also promoted many music venues at the restaurant.

Mark was very proud and always beamed when he spoke about his children. Mark enjoyed sports and enjoyed more than anything, watching Sam's wrestling matches and Olive's soccer games.

Mark loved the mountains, snowboarding in Colorado, as well as skateboarding. He was always looking for that next great vacation destination. Mark loved his home and the land around him. He would always send Linette photos of flowers on their property. He enjoyed gardening and working on projects around the house.

Mark loved all things music. He and his friends made great music together with their guitars and bands. Mark loved attending music festivals, cooking, and especially spending time with his friends and family. We will miss Mark's sense of humor that has quite evidently been passed down to his children.

A celebration of Mark's life will be held at Marks second home, Barley's Taproom,(123 West Main St., Spindale, NC), on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 5pm. Family and friends are welcome to stop by, have a slice, share great memories and listen to great music in honor of Mark.

The family would be honored if you would consider a donation to support the MSA's Coalition's mission to fund research towards a cure.
