Rev. & Mrs. Dennis W. Tomlinson
It has been a pleasure meeting and learning to know Margaret as a member of Mt. Hebron UMC as her Pastor. She seemed to demonstrate a number of faithful attributes to her Lord in service to her church, family, community and to those at White Oak Manor, to which she and her husband Wilbur began. This speaks highly of her abilities and desires to serve those in need of care, to which she had already been part of with family and friends. Although as a resident at White Oak, for more than the 9 years I have known her, she still took a personal part in seeing that things run as needed, if even in an unofficial way. Margaret may have been somewhat small in stature, but she made up for that in spunk fueled by passion, direction and a need to see a job well done. I truly believe she was a friend to the residents and the staff right up until a short period prior to her death. She will be missed and the joy, endurance, peace and love she shared will leave an empty place at White Oak. She always greeted my wife and I with respect and concern and on pastoral visits she would continue to give thanks for the time, conversation and prayers we shared in. Most often when I departed, she would continue to thank me for the time spent and with those sparkling hazel eyes proclaim her love for family, neighbor, church, her Lord and to me with a sincerity I knew was real and uplifting. I/we will feel her absence, but I look froward to seeing her again with the Lord Jesus, her friends and the whole of heaven. May the Lord bless you family, keep you in remembrance of her life and give you peace in knowing she lived life well and to the fullest with faith, hope and the Love of God in Christ the Lord as her guide.
