Mabel Dedmon Spicer, 87, formerly of Spindale, died Monday, January 24 at Oak Grove Health Center. A native of Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Annie Dillinger Dedmon. She was a retired winder from Mastercraft Corporation and a member of Main Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, James Spicer of Tampa, FL and Donald Spicer of Rutherfordton, one daughter, Christine McEntire of Rutherfordton; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one brother Esper Dedmon of Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lackey Spicer, and daughter Nellie Simmons.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 27 at Crowe’s Mortuary at 2 PM with Rev. Rick Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
