My Father

I am the last of 8 children, I have many fond memories of my father.  Every summer we traveled all over north to Niagra Falls, West to California to see the Red Woods and south to see Mayan pyramids in Mexico.  We saw beautiful mountians, rivers, waterfalls, and frequently went to Walt Disney World or Six Flags.  While in Mexico, Dad and I climbed a pryamid "The place where Gods were born."  Now imagine a man in bright neon multi colored golf pants climbing this pyramid with his young daughter.  We finally make it to the top.  We sit to rest then all of a sudden, he rips his pants, right on his rear!  Not sure if "The Gods" didn't like us sitting on their shrine or they just didn't like his pants, but it was a great memory.  When it was not summer, we would frequent down to Sarasota to our favorite places, Ringling Museum and The Ole' Heidelberg.  At the museum I learned aobut art and how to appreciate the culture and beauty of it all.  At the Ole' Heidleberg, I learned jow how far a roll would have to be thrown to make it int the performer's tuba.  We also frequent plays, from A Christmas Carol to Sound of Music.  It was all very magical to me.

My Dad was a "man's man."  He was handsome and debonair.  His signature was wingtip shoes, Old Spice aftershave and a 1/2 gallon bottle of Listerine, and of course the fore mentioned BRIGHT neon golf pants.

I am grateful for all the memories and a wonerful childhood home. I wish him peace on his next jouney.  Love you Dad!
