Jo Evelyn Williams Conner, age 84 of Rutherfordton passed away on Monday, March 21 as a result of an auto accident in Henderson County. She was a graduate of Mill Springs High School in Polk County and was a retired seamstress for Doncaster-Tanner. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rutherfordton.
She was a native of Rutherford County. She was the daughter of the late Knox and Myra Lizzie Whiteside Williams. She was preceded in death by one brother Arthur Williams.

She had been married to her childhood sweetheart, Clifford W. Conner for 60 years on January 27, 2016.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by one son, Darryl Conner of Rutherfordton, two daughters, Cindy Moore and husband Eddie of Rutherfordton and Melinda Allen and husband Rodney of Forest City. She is survived by 6 grandchildren, Alan Conner, Justin Conner and wife Amanda, Brittany Carver and husband Kevin, Jared Allen, Jason Allen and Jacob Allen. She has one great grandchild, Allie Conner. She is survived by one brother, Crawford Williams and wife Norma, three sisters, Sarah Lyles, Louise Elliott, and Katherine Myles and husband Jim. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, Rutherfordton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rutherford County Hospice, P O Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
