Obituary for Jean Thompson (Constance)

Jean Thompson (Constance)
Jean Constance Thompson, 95, of Spindale, NC passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, June 10th 2020 at her home. She was born May 22, 1925 in Lynn, NC, the daughter of the late William Jesse Constance and Mary Belle Davis Constance. She was preceded in death by all her siblings and three special nephews. She is cherished by her two daughters: Judy Mason of Asheville, NC; Sandy Craig and husband Major Paul Craig of Yorktown, VA; one son, Larry Thompson of Spindale, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandson, special nieces and nephews. She attended Sterns High School in Columbus, NC and Rutherford Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from Stonecutter Mills after 29 years of service. She was a member of Spencer Baptist Church and a Christian who lived her religion everyday giving and helping others, smiling and expecting nothing in return. She was a role model and hero to so many of us. Her love of people made incredible impacts on every life she touched. She was our rock and kept us going. She was a Southern lady with a green thumb who loved growing flowers, especially irises. She also loved traveling on the Toney Tours with her sisters and walking to Spindale Drug. She was tired and needed to rest in God’s healing arms. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Spencer Baptist Church Building fund 187 N. Oak St Spindale NC 28160. Graveside services will be held at Eternal Hills Cemetery on Saturday June 13th 2020 at 11:00am with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills.
