Obituary for James Lindsay Davis

James Lindsay  Davis

James Lindsay Davis, 51, of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Bellevue, NE, he was the son of Helen Burgess Davis and the late William Richard Davis. James was a valve stream manager at Parker Hannifin. He was a graduate of UNC Charlotte where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. James loved spending time with family and friends, grilling, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Carolina Panthers.

Left to cherish his memory is his fiancée, Colleen Brady of Rutherfordton; mother Helen Davis of Rutherfordton; sister Deborah Davis Howes and husband Chris of North Canton, OH; sister-in-law Bonnie Davis of Mooresville; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Howes, Richard Howes and wife Michelle, William R. Davis II and Cassidy Davis. In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his twin brother, John Burgess Davis.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Dr. Don Scofield officiating. Interment will follow in Green River Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Crowe’s Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
