Obituary for Gertrude Sinclair (Flynn)
Gertrude Sinclair, 97, of Lake Lure, died Monday, March 14, 2016 at White Oak Manor in Rutherfordton. Born in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Lizzie Shytle Flynn. She was a member of Bill’s Creek Baptist Church and managed the Chimney Rock Gift Shop for many years.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Katherine McEntire and husband Ransome of Rutherfordton; sons, Graham Sinclair of Lake Lure and Kenneth Sinclair and wife Betty of Glen Allen, VA; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Sinclair and son Wayne Sinclair.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Bill’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terrell Dillingham and Rev. Ron Reep officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bill’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1475 Bill’s Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
