Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Gene Ashe can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Lou Gilliam
Condolence: My father, Tommy Gilliam, owned Gilliam's Gun Shop back in the early 70's. Gene and my daddy were "shooting buddies". At the time I was 10 and my brother was 8. We would sit and listen to Gene tell stories about being in Viet Nam. He was at the gun shop every Saturday morning. My daddy passed away in 2006. I think he and Gene are sitting back shooting the breeze the way they did over 40 years ago.

Condolence: Sorry to hear about the loss of Gene. It has been 44 years since we worked together in the Engineering Department at Stonecutter, but I remember Gene well, when he left for Vietnam and when he came back. He was a good friend and coworker. My condolences to the family.

Condolence From: Betty Snipes Lucas
Condolence: I love you, my cousin, and can't believe you, Edward, Mildred, Aunt Bessie and Uncle Golie are gone. We were a close and loving family from my earliest memories. Visiting Aunt Bessie was always a fun time and trip for us. Aunt Bessie was fun. Thank you for your service and I'm sorry for what you endured on Hamburger Hill in Vietnam. I'm glad you survived, although it never left you.
May God take care and may you rest in peace until we meet again.
Your first cousin, Betty
