Floyd Wayne Hicks, 84 of Rutherfordton passed away on December 29, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Floyd was the son of the late Thomas Jackson Hicks and Lillie B. Nunn Hicks. Floyd was also preceded in death by his wife Bernetha Ann Mallory Hicks, two brothers, two sisters and two children.
Floyd lived life his way and that was always to the fullest. He was a dedicated family man, hard worker and entrepreneur. Floyd owned and operated Hicks Trucking. Left to cherish his memory are his five children and one adopted child, sixteen grandkids, six great grandkids and one great-great grandkid.
Floyd was proud to have served in the United States Navy and he served on the Shangri-la.
