Eugene Swafford 66 of Mooresboro NC died at his residence on March 21, 2009. He was a native of Franklin NC was of the baptist faith and had retired from Stonecutter Mills. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruby Swafford. He is survived by his wife Gail Johnson Swafford of the home, son Michael Swafford of Forest City, Two daughters Sharon Crotts of Ellenboro and Crystal Swafford of the home. Five Grandchildren, one brother Jim Swafford of Calhoun GA, three sisters Marie Hall, Edith Pendergrass and Kristine Grant all of Calhoun GA. The visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Tuesday March 24 at Crowe's Funeral Home with the funeral services following at 2PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. John Perry will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
