Ethel Searcy Lane of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday at Oakland Living Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Aiden Lester and Josephine Robertson Searcy. She attended West Point Baptist Church and was a retired textile spooler.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Hill and his wife Nancy of Forest City and Jimmy Hill and his wife Peggy of Rock Hill, SC; step-daughter Stephanie Ward and husband Robert of Greensboro; two sisters, Evelyn Ervin of Forest City and Jeanette McCraw of Spindale; two brothers, Alvin Searcy of Marion and Albert Searcy of Morganton; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Julius Hill and Willie Lane, and siblings Alice Taylor and Clyde Searcy.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2 at 1 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Cal Sayles officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
