Dr. Paul Henry Cartwright of the Glenwood Community in McDowell County died at the Charles George Veterans Hospital in Asheville NC. He was born in Detroit Michigan He was the son of the late Robert Stanley Cartwright and his surviving mother Mary Rose Cartwright of Michigan. He was the owner and operator of the Forest City Chiropractic Office. He was active in the VFW Post 05204, Glenwood Ruritan Club and alumni of Logan College of Chiropractic in Missouri. He was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Asheville NC.
He is survived by his companion, Jenny Surrett, Son John Cartwright of Gastonia, Daughters Krista Cartwright of Spindale, Allison Welborn of San Antonio Texas, and Hannah Cartwright of Marion. Two Grandchildren. Two Brothers Michael Cartwright of Michigan, David Cartwright of Michigan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Charles George Veterans Palliative Care Unit 1100 Tunnel Road Asheville NC 28805. Dr. Cartwright was a Vietnam Veteran and was a proud member of The United States Marine Corps. A celebration for Dr. Cartwright will be held on Saturday August 8, 2009 from 3-5 PM at the Foundation at Isothermal Community College.
