Obituary for Doris "Sandy" Proctor (Taylor)

Doris "Sandy" Proctor (Taylor)
Doris Taylor Proctor, known to her friends and family as “Sandy”, left this earthly realm on August 16, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. She was sixty-four years old.
It would be wrong to say that Sandy lost her battle, because no matter how sick she was she was determined to stay positive and fight for her life. At a time when anyone else would have broken, Sandy remained strong up until her last breath. In that moment, her battle was won, her fight was over, and she is now enjoying eternal victory and life with her savior in heaven.
Her favorite scripture throughout this difficult time was Matthew 17:20—“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you”. Through her, we know what faith, resilience, and perseverance truly look like.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Dexter and Catherine Taylor. She is survived by her husband Fred of Anna, IL; her children Sherry Yelton (James), Baxter Hill (Stephanie), and Kenneth Hill (April); her step-children Stacey Smith (Greg), Brock Proctor, and Joshua Proctor (Daniel); her grandchildren Jerry, Gracie, Kodi, Addison, Molly Anne, Carter, Teddy, Haley, Molly, and Rylan; as well as several brothers and sisters. Due to the pandemic, there will not be a formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sandy’s memory to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043. Online condolences may be made at www.crowemortuary.com. Crowe’s Mortuary is assisting the family of Sandy Taylor Proctor.
