Correne Elizabeth  Lawing (Jones)





Mrs. Correne Elizabeth Jones Lawing, 86 of White Oak Manor, Rutherfordton, NC went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Born in Spartanburg County, SC; daughter of John Henry and Texie Hines Jones, she was a longtime resident of Spindale, NC and was the widow of Lloyd Dewitt Lawing. Retired from Stonecutter Mills of Spindale, she enjoyed embroidery, quilting, and working in her flower garden. She is survived by a snon and daughter in law, Mike & Yvonne Lawing of Forest City, grandson Scott D. Hardin and great grandson Connor L. Hensley of Forest City, who loved to call her “Maw-Maw-Lawing”. She is also survived by her sister, Christine Peake of Greer, SC, a brother and sister in law Burt & Ruth Jones of Lyman, SC and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday May 14, 2009 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy E. Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Concluding services will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful support and care given to Mrs. Lawing by numerous individuals including the membership and ministry team of Spencer Baptist Church, by White Oak Manor, Rutherford Hospital, Hospice of Rutherford County, Rutherford Internal Medicine and Claddaugh Home Care.
