Chalmer Jayson  Arrowood
Chalmer Jayson Arrowood, 96, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, December 1st at The VA Hospice Center in Asheville, NC. He was the son of the late Samuel Clarence and Lula Minibelle Melton Arrowood. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Betty Harris Arrowood.
Chalmer’s “Chad’s” life was devoted to raising his family and was known for his love of hard work as a carpenter and construction worker. He built many buildings still in use here in Rutherford County and quite a few homes. He was an inspiration for hard work to all who knew him. Chalmer was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, June Carver of Sandy Mush, NC, Jennifer Callahan of Apopka, FL, Karla Wilson of McDonough, GA and Keith Arrowood of Forest City, NC. Granchildren; Marnie Beaver of Forest City, NC, Amy Anderson of Sandy Mush, NC, Cory Callahan of Casselberry, FL., Emily Owen of McDonough, GA and Anna Wilson of McDonough, GA; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; siblings Earl Clarence Arrowood and Ruby Rae Holland. Chalmer had 12 siblings in all.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, December 5th 2016 with Son-in-Law Rudy Callahan officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Online condolences at crowemortuary.com.
