Betty Pitts Gibert, 76, of Forest City went to be with the Lord Monday, February 7. A native of Laurens County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry Lee and Velma Hopkins Pitts. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Forest City.

She is survived by her husband, William Perry Gibert of the home; four sons, Richard Gibert of Ellenboro, Michael Gibert and wife Donna of Forest City, Glenn Gibert and wife Amy of Forest City, Dale Gibert of Mooresboro; three sisters, Martha Henderson and Winnie Faye Pitts of Ware Shoals, SC and Janet Copeland of Florida; one brother John Pitts of Ware Shoals, SC; five grandchildren, Angela Gibert, Brian Gibert, Christopher Gibert, Kaylan Gibert, Nathan Gibert; three great grandchildren, Nicholas Gibert, Jacob Gibert, and Nevaeh Roach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Carl and Arthur Pitts who gave their lives for their country during WWII and brothers Neil, Charles, and Wilbur Pitts.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday , Feb. 8 at 3 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Forest City with Rev. Becky Stanley officiating. Family will receive friends in the Ladies Parlor of First Presbyterian Church following the service. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, February 9 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church cemetery in Ware Shoals, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 438 West Main Street, Forest City, NC 28043.
