Dr. Pagter memories

Two years ago this past January, I had my 22 semi-anual physical by Dr. Pagter. He sensed something didn't add up on some symptons I had and referred me to an endocrinologist friend in Greenville, SC, Dr. Von Hoff. Dr. Von Hoff  sent me for a PT scan which confirmed I had pancreatic cancer. I went through chemo, radiation and chemo and surgery and am doing well two years later. I owe my life to Dr. Pagter's insight that sent me in the right direction. I made an appointment with him this past May when I received notice he was retiring.

Dr. Pager was a member of a disappearing breed, doctors that really care about their patients and provide follow-up where needed. He was a talented and caring practitioner. He and Rae made an excellent team.

My soul felt sympathy to his family. He was a fine man who loved his work and was good at it.

With kindest regards,

Al Boland
