The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Alfred Castillo can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

One blessed man

Uncle Fred was the one man in the neighborhood and life I truly loved and admired. He was a great man for our community who helped so many and had a caring heart. I will always hold memories of $2.00 bills, where did you get your ugly pills, him helping catch the skunk, bumper pool, shuffle board, and his breaking up a fight, just took someone's breath away. Probably because he, leaped on their chest. He was a hard working man. He adapted Armando in a time when few others would. I even have a memory of him breaking up a dog fight between our dog Chris and another story, where he just grabbed the stray by the jaw and flung him. He taught me to swim a Tahaiti Beach, by taking me out to the pad, telling me to jump, he would catch me. He didn't, he said kick your legs your almost to me and was moving towards the shore. I cried, kicked, got close enough he said stand up. I finally did and started swimming from that day forward. While I feel like I am sinking now Uncle Fred, I will kick until I see you at the next shore. I am truly one blessed man and now heaven has presented him his crown.
