Mary Louise Roper, 80 of Rutherfordton passed away at her home on February 7, 2022. Mary was the daughter of the late Otis and Dora Waddell. Mary was preceded in death by her husband James Roper, three sisters Polly Peace, Carrie Dotson and Evelyn McFalls, a brother Otis Waddell Jr. Mary is survived by her daughter Kathy Roper Painter (Roger), son Danny William Roper (Lisa), son Terry Roper (Tracy), nine grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters; Deborah Bohanon (Larry) of Florida, Brenda Gilbert of Campobello, SC and Ann Searcy and Milo from Lake Lure, NC and retired Master Sergeant Larry Waddell (Kathy) of Mill Spring, NC. A graveside service is planned for Wednesday February 9, 2022 at 1PM, at Mountain Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Painter officiating.
