The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Donald Kent can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Cherry Herring

Uncle Don was always so much fun.  He was quirky and intelligent with a quick wit.  He introduced me to my first Off Broadway play in NYC.  He also took my daughter and me to Coney Island- a trip I'll never forget!! I remember that he could eat a spoonful of Chinese hot mustard! My best memory though was in his apartment in Brooklyn the New Year's Eve I was in 3rd grade.  I was with my dad and not only did they let me stay up till midnight, but Uncle Don had bought a tiny cherry herring cordial for me to toast with at midnight.  I recently learned what a blues historian he was! Love you Uncle Don!!
