Condolence From: Jamey Anderson
Condolence: I did everything I could and attempted contact through every channel possible to say one last goodbye and that despite the distance that took place over the last several years, I never stopped loving you. I'm sorry I wasn't given that opportunity. I hope you find peace Grandad. You accomplished so much in your life as a doctor and as a man. I have always tried to make you proud, since the beginning when you were the first father figure I had as my Pepaw. I wish you or any of my family would have given me five more minutes to explain that although I differ in religious beliefs, I'm still a good person. I'm very sorry that I wasn't allowed to see you in the end, and that the rest of my family has continued to refuse to contact me or make any recognition that I exist. Many have told me that you would be proud of the man I've grown up to be, but nothing would have meant more than to hear it from you. Goodbye, and, as always, I love you.

Condolence: I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Pagter's passing. He was the epitome of what I believe God intended for doctors to be. He was kind, compassionate, caring, meticulous and thorough. Without a doubt, he was the most thorough doctor I have ever known. Yet, he didn't let his knowledge of medical science overrule the Great Physician. I truly enjoyed being his patient. My sincerest sympathy and prayers are extended to the Pagter family. May you find comfort in God's peace and love and your treasure of memories. - Debra Ham, Greenville, SC

Condolence: I was saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Pagter. I respected him so much because he cared so deeply about his patients, and he would even make house calls. He was a good man, and he left an amazing mark on this world. We need more men like Dr. Pagter!-David Vining

Condolence From: Dr. Carol Kooistra
Condolence: There have been times in the psst when a fellow physician passes that I felt I gave my ultimate compliment--"They were a Doctor's doctor." But upon learning of Dr. Pagter's death, I realized that there exists a higher level of excellence, which he exemplified. Not only was Dr. Pagter a "Doctor's doctor," maintaining his skill set and continuing to grow his fund of knowledge, with well thought out and reasonable treatment plans for his patients, but he was also a "Patient's doctor"--he truly cared about every one of them, and continued, through all the changes and stresses that are now part of the business of medicine, to keep his patients' best interests as his primary goal. He will be sorely missed.

Condolence From: Dean Campbell
Condolence: Our mother and grandmother, Elsie Campbell, loved Dr. Pagter, trusted his counsel, and valued his prayers on her behalf. And we so appreciated his leaving his demanding practice to visit her at home in her final days. God has surely already said to his spirit, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
