Obituary for William Howard Lookadoo Sr.
Howard Lookadoo Sr, age 96, beloved husband of Barbara Straughn Lookadoo of Forest City, passed away Saturday January 2, 2021 at Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home.
A native of Rutherford County, Howard was the son of the late Richard Pierce Lookadoo and Macy Elizabeth Deviney Lookadoo, retired from Deviney Oil Service after 50 years, a member of Spindale United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Irene Moore Lookadoo; brothers, Richard, Don and Gilmer Lookadoo; sisters Katherine Brackett, Sarah Harrill and Lorena Lookadoo.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Barbara, a son Bill Luckadoo and his wife Judy, a daughter Susie Smith and her husband Mickey; brother Phillip Lookadoo, granddaughters Brooke Harrill and Kate James and great grandchildren Aiden and Adi Harrill.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 PM Tuesday January 5 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Rev. Eric Marshburn officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043 or to Spindale United Methodist Church 185 Mill St Spindale, NC 28160.
