Vickie Hopper Martin, 69, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away, Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Louella Day Hopper. She worked as a waitress for Shoney’s and was a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church for 28 years.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Ronnie Martin and wife Rana; daughter Lisa Bailey; five grandchildren, Ashley and Emily Bailey, Chasity, Brooklyn and Trevor Martin; great grandson Leelan Garcia; sister, Donna Wilson and brother, Danny Hopper, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved. In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Martin, brothers, Tommy and Eugene Day; sisters, Patsy Salmon, Rita Hopper Shaw, Cindy Hopper and grandson Brandon Martin.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM Friday, April 21, 2023 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Rev. Chad Sisk and Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
