Obituary for Thomas Harold "Tom" Dotson
Thomas “Tom” Harold Dotson, age 54, of Spindale, passed away Friday at his home surrounded by family. Tom was a native of Rutherford County and retired sales manager for NC Tractor and Farm Supply in Rutherfordton.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents WWII veteran Fred Leonard Dotson and June Allen Dotson, brothers Steve, Gary, Freddie, Ronald, Ronnie Dotson and “lil Andy” Merrett. Those left to cherish his memory include long-time friend and significant other Kimberly Guffey, his children Beth, Lee, Nickolas and Tabitha Dotson, sister Becky Martinez, brother John and his wife Cathy, sister in law Kay, his very special aunt Jean and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom also had very special friends whom he loved dearly and were his family, his “lil brother” Bill Cowan and wife Amy and Tommy Dill and family.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held 12 PM Tuesday August 9 at Grays Creek Baptist Church with Chaplain Jill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11-12 PM prior to the service.
