Sherman Eugene Blanton, 78, of Forest City, died Friday, December 20, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Sherman and Arvie Blanton. He was an electrician for the Coca Cola Bottling Company and a member of Henrietta First Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Jeff Blanton (Cathy), Brad (Tracy) Blanton, Mike Landers; daughter, Cathy (Kevin) Buckner; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister Rebecca McCorkle and brother Jerry Blanton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Landers Blanton.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Monday, December 23, 2019 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Dr. Bobby Gantt and Rev. James Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Military Honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Mortuary.
