Obituary for Sallie Mae Patterson
Sallie Mae Brock Patterson, age 78, of Duncan, SC, passed away on Friday June 11, 2021. A native of Mt. Olive, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Marvin and Mattie Brock and the wife of Lawrence Patterson.
Sallie retired from the Mt. Olive Tribune, and spent many years after, enjoying her retirement with Larry in Rutherfordton, NC, prior to relocating to Duncan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Lawrence, sister Joyce Knowles, brother Ronald Brock, and son in law, John Davis.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Bonnie Davis of Mooresville, NC, Sherry Howard and her husband, Gordon of Duncan, SC. The grandchildren are: Blake Howard and wife Brandi, Brittney Criscito and her husband Robert, Will Davis, Cassidy Davis and one great grandson, Gionni Criscito. She also enjoyed time with brother, Coy Brock and his wife Mary Lou, and her nieces and nephews and their families.
The family will celebrate her life in a graveside service at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC at 3PM Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
Sallie loved to smile and laugh and spread joy to others as well. In lieu of flowers please spread some joy in her memory. Memorials may be made to https://thecarpenterstable.org/, the American Diabetes Association, or the Spartanburg Humane Society.
