Condolence: I saw a model of a P40 the other day and thought of my first flight instructor Bob Tolhurst. I always remembered he flew with the Flying Tigers. I often wondered what he was up to so I looked him up and saw this obituary. I was very sorry to hear of his passing. Bob taught me to fly back at Owens Field when I was in high school. He instilled in me a love of flying that has never left me. God bless Bob and his family.
