Robert Lee Atchley, 84, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Charles Harrison and Teloian Hill Atchley. Robert was a retired restaurant owner and a member of Piney Knob Baptist Church and a Mason.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Tony Atchley and wife Cathy; daughters, Sheila Atchley Henson and husband Kenny, Christine Atchley McDaniel and husband Harvey; grandchildren, Amanda Atchley, Wendy Coradini, Derek Henson, Brittany Henson, Carla Lowery, Nicholas McDaniel, Courtney West and Morgan Atchley; ten greatgrandchildren; numerous great greatgrandchildren; daughter in laws Allison Atchley Henson and Debbie Atchley Justice and a special niece and caregiver, Tabitha Cogdell, and his loving fur baby Precious. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Atchley, and sons Frankie Atchley and Rocky Atchley.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Piney Knob Baptist Church with Revs. Wayne Stafford, Casey Stockton, Shane Jackson, Josh Calvert and Elijah London officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Welcome Home Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
