Patricia Gayle Smith Marlowe, 69, of Union Mills went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 10, 2020. She is the daughter of the late Walter Gale Smith and Theron Veighlene Garner Smith. Patti is survived by her husband Sam Marlowe of the home, a son Sam Marlowe Jr., wife Missy and grand daughter Hannah of Green Creek, son Brian Marlowe, wife Kelley and grand daughter Emma of Carolina Beach, daughter, Jill Simmons, husband Ashley and grand daughters Laney and Taylor of Roanoke, VA. Patti is also survived by brothers Mark Smith of Union Mills and Ronnie Smith of Lexington, NC. Patti is also survived by children she adopted in her heart, a son, Apostle Jekov and wife Zori, grandchildren Alexa and Christopher of Kissimmee, FL, and a son Peter and Rachel Chov and grandson Charlie of Forest City, a son Michael Chov and grandchildren Julie and Nathan, and a son Bobby Chang of PA. Patti also leaves behind two very special friends Sandra Baynard and Sarah Norville.
Patti graduated from Gardner Webb University where she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing. She started her career as a Registered Nurse at Rutherford Hospital and then later worked and retired from the Rutherford County Health Department where she worked in family planning.
Patti was a faithful and devoted member of Second Baptist Church where she served in many capacities such as Caring Hands Ministry and the Kitchen Ministry.
A service is planned for 2PM Wednesday February 12th, 2020 at Second Baptist Church of Rutherfordton, 191 Green Street Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Dr. Keith Stephenson, Rev. Brandon Wood and Rev. Chad Dillard officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM until 2PM in the Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Second Baptist Church Caring Hands Ministry, 191 Green Street Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
