Obituary for Newton Perry Roach Jr.
Newton Perry Roach Jr., age 79, husband of Juanita Vance Roach of Rutherfordton passed away Thursday January 26, 2023 at Rutherford Hospital. Newton was a native of Rutherford County, a member of Holy Springs Baptist Church, a retired textile employee and a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Those preceding him in death include his parents Newton Perry Roach Sr and Roxie Wilkie Roach and brothers Glenn and Perry Roach.
In addition to his wife Juanita, he leaves to cherish his memory his children James Roach (Lori) of Rutherfordton, Tammy Simmons (Danny) of Rutherfordton, Sharon Flack (Aaron) of Union Mills, Kevin Roach (Amanda) of Spindale, Chad Roach of Rutherfordton, honorary son Chris Harmon (Kristin) of Rutherfordton; brothers Leon Roach (Linda) of Forest City, Troy Roach (Eleanor) of Landrum, sisters Margaret Shelton of Rutherfordton and Janet Reid of Forest City; grandchildren Amanda Pace (Lee), Brien Simmons, Carol Satterfield (Ben), Haley Roach, Audrey Simmons, Cierra Roach, Lily Roach, Hannah Roach and Abbie Harmon; great grandchildren Braylee Pace and L. J. Pace.
A service to celebrate the life of Newton Perry Roach Jr. will be held at 2 PM Tuesday January 31, 2023 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chad Roach and Rev. Scott Moneyham officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friend from 6-8 PM Monday at Crowe’s Mortuary.
