Obituary for Nellie Sue Rhodes (Hardin)
Nellie Sue Hardin Rhodes, 83, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at her home. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late John Lloyd and Mary Lee Guffey Hardin. Nellie was a retired minister and was a member of Full Gospel Revival Center. She served as pastor of the Christian Assembly in Springfield, IL as well as churches in Birmingham, AL, Startex, SC and Augusta, GA.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Ramona Hall of Rutherfordton and Luwanna Rhodes of Helena, AL, and a granddaughter LaBreeska Hall Davis of Forest City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Rhodes, brothers Hicks Hardin and John Lee (JL) Hardin, and sisters, Lorena McCraw and Maggie Goforth.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, December 10, 2021 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Tommy Hutchins officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Full Gospel Revival Center, PO Box 1758, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
