Mary Catherine Suttle Godfrey, "Cathy" age 81 of Prince Street passed away at her home Saturday, June 15, 2019. A native of Rutherford County, she was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and was retired from The Tanner Company.She is survived by her husband Harold "Pete" Godfrey; one daughter, Amy Godfrey Welch; two sons, Greg Godfrey, Harold "Pete" Godfrey, Jr. and wife Ann; grandchildren, Chase and Aaron Godfrey; great grandchildren, Alexis, Channing, Clay, and Korbyn Godfrey; one brother, Jerry Suttle; two sisters, Carlon Suttle Bailey, Connie Suttle Horne and husband Howard; daughter in law, Shari Godfrey and a number of other relatives and friends.Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Carl Suttle; mother, Venisha Suttle Ballard; step mother, Dora Humphries Suttle; one son, Anthony "Tony" Godfrey; and four brothers, Chivous, Richard, Timothy, and Thomas Carl Suttle, Jr.Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Crowe's Funeral Chapel, 118 College Ave., Rutherfordton, NC 28139. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Cathy will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to W.N.C. Children's Fund 1 Botany View Court Extension, Asheville, NC 28805.
