Obituary for Mark Gunter
Christopher Mark Gunter, age 59 of Union Mills, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 17, 2023.
Mark was born and raised in Galax, VA. He graduated from Marion Senior High School and then served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He is a member of Southern Baptist Church and had a successful career as a salesman in the car industry, working with Charles Watkins and several other dealerships. Mark truly enjoyed watching football, going fishing, playing the piano and singing.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 23 years, Sherry Walker Gunter. His children, Ashle Malone (Joey), Katie Gunter, Chandler Gunter; stepchildren, Heather Crawford, Blaire Crawford, Chelsey Croom (Kyle). He is also survived by his mother, Connie Gunter; one brother, Jeff Gunter and fourteen grandchildren that he dearly loved and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Rev. Glenn Gunter and one sister, Kimberly Ann Davis.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held 3 PM Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Southern Baptist Church 140 Church Street, Rutherfordton NC 28139 with Rev. Peter Surran and Rev. Steve Waters officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southern Baptist Church.
