Lawrence John Joseph Szachta Reid “Larry”, 73, of Rutherfordton, NC died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at his home. A native of Detroit MI, he was the son of the late Frank Anthony and Lorraine Hardoin Szachta. Larry taught Middle School students math and science for many years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church of Forest City and St. Ann Catholic Church in Frankfort, MI.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Sarah Reid Ziomek of Rutherfordton; sons Daniel Lawrence Reid of Tallahassee, FL and Mark Christopher Reid of Brighton, MI; five grandchildren; and a sister Teresa Reimer of California.

Funeral Mass will be 10 AM Saturday February 21 at St Ann Catholic Church in Frankfort, Mi. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday February 20, 2015 at Jowett Family Funeral Home in Frankfort, Mi.
