Obituary for Kenneth Lee Blackwell
Kenneth Lee Blackwell, 73, of Lake Lure, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late August and Tempie McDaniel Blackwell. Kenneth was a retired machine operator in the furniture industry and a member of Bills Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and dearly loved his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Regina Blain Blackwell, daughter, Denise Earley and husband Billy; son, Kenny Blackwell and wife Jennifer; five grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; sister, Devern Upton; and fur babies Sophie and Izzy. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Clinton Blackwell, brothers, Edmond, Mercus, Tommy, and Douglas Blackwell, and sisters, Dorothy Cissel and Marilyn Bradshaw.
Graveside services will be held 2PM Monday, January 23, 2023 at Bills Creek Baptist Church cemetery, 1475 Bills Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC with Rev. Arthur Bien officiating. The family will receive friends from 2PM until 4PM Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Crowe’s Mortuary, 118 College Avenue, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
