Obituary for John Henry McMahan
John Henry McMahan, 93, of Spindale, passed away June 3, 2022. A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Alfred T. and Annie Bessie Sain McMahan. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, and a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He also worked for the US Fish and Wildlife service and managed US government buildings for twenty years before retiring with 30 years of government service. He was a member of Spindale United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon McMahan Campbell; a granddaughter Shannon Campbell Sellers; three great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Thomas McMahan.
His body was cremated and his remains will be kept by his family for future burial in the Spindale town cemetery on Kentucky Street. Burial will be private with his family and close friends.
