John Daniel, "JD" McFarland, age 86, of Forest City, NC went home to be with his Lord on September 28th 2019. JD loved automobiles and retired from Drexel Heritage after working for 43 years. JD was the son of the late Lawson and Eva Gettys McFarland. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Betty Mize McFarland; daughter Darlene Moon of Rutherford College, NC; daughter Pamela H. Lindsay (Mike) of Forest City, NC; daughter Teri H. Tangeman (Edsel) of Taylors, SC; sister Mary Sue Conner; sister Blanche Greene; grandchildren Amanda Garrison (Alex Belcher), Stacey L. Millard (Andy), Kristie L. Perez, Jennifer Starnes, Brent M. Lindsay; great grandchildren Mattie Belcher, Will Millard, Emma Millard, Jordan Starnes, Kynlie Bradley, Kaitlin Bradley, Dylan Painter, Jacob Orr, Madison Hampton, Emi Howell, great-great grandchildren Aiden Rodriguez, and Remington Nelon;
In addition to his parents JD was preceded in death by siblings Robert McFarland (infant), and Maggie Belle Hubbard.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, October 2nd 2019 at Fathers Vineyard 724 Oakland Rd, Spindale, NC 28160. With the Rev. Terry Howell, Rev. John Mitchell, and Rev. Wayne Toney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made at www.crowemortuary.com.
