John Howard Dimsdale, 64, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away April 22, 2021. He was the son of the late J.D. and Millie Dimsdale. John was an avid fisherman and a famously hard worker with a love for the outdoors and sunshine. He was content to spend the day on a John Deere tractor or with a chainsaw in his hand. He was a dedicated employee of 28 years at Sonoco Plastics where he was respected, admired and loved by the people he worked with.

He leaves behind to celebrate his memory, a loving wife, Becky Laughter Dimsdale; his children, Andrew Dimsdale, Haley Dimsdale Davis, Michael and Genevieve Laughter, Clifton Cuthbertson, and Melissa Ford; and one granddaughter, Teagan Elena Laughter, who was the light of his heart. John was one of nine children and is survived by his siblings, Debbie Grant, Annette Scism, Janette Roper, Judy Burns, Ted Dimsdale, Cathy Dimsdale and Brenda Waters. He was predeceased by his sister, Sherry Baynard. He shared a special relationship with his in-laws, Wade and Margaret Laughter, and was dearly loved by all of his extended family, including his brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

We will celebrate his life on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 3:00 pm, at the farm that he loved, at 264 Hooper Road, Rutherfordton, NC. It will be an outdoor, informal gathering to fellowship and share memories of this amazing man.
