Obituary for Jody Parker
Joseph “Jody” Parker, 73 of Ruth passed away on August 22, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Jody was the son of the late Robert Samuel Parker and Mary Irene Bradley Parker. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Martha Greene, Virginia Doty, Lee Parker, Hattie Greene and Samuel Ray Parker.
Left to cherish Jody’s memory are his brothers and sisters, Raymond Parker, Charles Parker, Jessie Mae Smith, Mary Helen Conner and Cathy Waters. Also, Jody leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a special niece, Shelia Burnett, who was a caretaker for Jody.
Jody never met a stranger and was often seen riding his bicycle on the Rails to Trails. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A private funeral service will be held Monday August 24th at Crowe’s Chapel and burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Bostic. Everyone attending the funeral must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Crowe’s Mortuary is assisting the family of Jody Parker. Online condolences may be made at www.crowemortuary.com.
