Jerry Ervin Hames, age 62, husband of Rhonda Broome Hames went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday May 19, 2021. Jerry was a native of Rutherford County, son of the late Larston Earl “Bud” Hames and the late Joyce Naomi Fortenberry Hames, Pastor of Restoration Church in Forest City where his ministry was founded on love and grace, Chaplain of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department and served in the 096 Chaplaincy Committee.
In addition to his wife of 40 years, Rhonda, he leaves to cherish his memory daughters Keisha (Marcus) Gibson and Kami (Josh) Hall; grandchildren Josiah and Paisley Hall, Brayden and Madilyn Gibson and Makenzie and Lucas Ellison; a brother Kenneth (Wanda) Hames, sisters Mary Ann Hames, Virginia (Roger) Dobbins and Robin Hewitt; a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A celebration of the life of Pastor Jerry Ervin Hames will be held at 1 PM Saturday May 22, 2021 at Restoration Church 133 Gardenbrook Dr. Forest City, NC 28043. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor David Henderson, Bishop Don Horton, Pastor Steve Collins and Elder John Bradley will officiate.
